"Work experience for Answers Investigation has given me a true insight into the working environment, and a real taste for private investigative work. I was not expecting to be as involved as I actually was. I started the weeks with the impression that I would be making coffee runs and writing up spreadsheets. In reality, on the first day I started I was taken to Arundel and Southampton to undertake some test purchasing work. The team where supportive and understanding that I was nervous, and after my first attempt my confidence was much higher and I very much enjoyed the rest of the day. After this first day, I felt a great sense of achievement for stepping outside of my comfort zone, whilst enjoying it the whole way through"
"On the Wednesday we embarked on a trip up to Knightsbridge in London to do some investigative work into CCTV footage surrounding an incident that took place there. Again, I was not expecting to be sat at the coffee bar in Harrods, deciding on how to approach the work of the day. This was one of the many times I realised how much I loved the fact that everyday in this job is different, the day before we were writing up reports in an office and now we were in Knightsbridge drinking coffee in Harrods, and talking to Harvey Nichols staff as well as entering both the French and the Kuwaiti embassy! "
"For me, the office work was as equally as interesting as the outings. I liked the idea of not knowing who would be calling every time the phone ringed as well as the fact as never knowing what would happen that day. I was taught how to take fingerprints of people who needed them for a visas and was able to take some myself of actual clients"
"As well as this, I was encouraged to ask questions and read up on reports and past cases and as a result ended up learning a lot more than I ever expected. As a student that is not too sure about what career I would like to go into, I have been given the opportunity to get a taste of this work and working life"
